Introducing Deveval

Today we're launching Deveval — a developer intelligence platform built for the AI era.

Engineering has changed. AI tools like Cursor, Claude Code, and Copilot make it trivial to generate hundreds of lines of code in minutes. But more code doesn't mean more impact. The old metrics — commit count, lines changed, PR volume — have gone from signal to noise.

Deveval cuts through that noise and answers the questions that actually matter.

The Developer Impact Index

At the core of Deveval is the DII (Developer Impact Index) — a 0–100 score that measures real engineering impact across four dimensions:

Code Quality (30 pts) — architecture decisions, maintainability, defect risk, and review signal
Delivery Capability (30 pts) — business logic shipped, feature completeness, and merged output
Engineering Efficiency (25 pts) — PR cycle time, first-pass merge rate, and productive AI adoption
Contribution Breadth (15 pts) — cross-repository ownership, review contributions, and team leverage

Every score is derived from real GitHub data. No surveys, no self-reporting, no meetings.

Built for non-technical leaders

Deveval is designed so that anyone can understand the results — not just engineers. Each team member gets a clear red/yellow/green status with a one-sentence summary. If you can read an email, you can read a Deveval report.

Connect your GitHub repositories and Deveval automatically analyzes commit patterns, PR quality, review behavior, and AI tool usage. Evaluations complete in 3–5 minutes for a typical team.

A bird's-eye view of your team's performance: DII distribution, monthly trends, dimension health, and auto-generated key signals that highlight patterns and constraints.

Deveval launches with three tiers:

Free — 1 repository, up to 3 evaluated members, one-time evaluation
Starter — up to 10 repositories, monthly automated evaluations, PDF export
Team — up to 50 repositories, weekly evaluations, cross-team comparison, priority support
